Dibs Terminology

Dibs- Online Volunteer Tracking

This season we are going to use a new online tool that will help manage the associations tournament volunteer opportunities and hours. “Dibs” is an online tool that helps keep members organized by providing a platform to assign and claim responsibility for volunteer opportunities. Members will browse assigned volunteer opportunities (Dib sessions) and claim responsibility for the opportunities (Dib Items) that fit into their schedule. This tool will allow us to put more responsibility in the hands of our members.

What is the Dibs Module?
"Dibs" is an online tool that helps keep members organized by providing a platform to assign and claim responsibility for volunteer opportunities. Site members can browse assigned Dib Sessions and claim responsibility for Dib Items. Members then complete Dib Items to fulfill their Dib Session requirements.

What is a Dib Session?
A Dib Session is a collection of all available volunteer shifts.

What is a Dib Item?
Dib Item is a specific volunteer shift that is available for users to claim.  Dib Items typically include a description, a time, date, credit value (often based on hours), category, and a location.  This is the detailed information your users will need to know about the shift they are signing up to work for (claiming).

Dib Item Examples:  Non Team Spirit Concession Stand, Apparel, Jamboree Help, Outdoor Ice Help, etc.
All volunteer opportunities will be available on the website under the “Dibs” tool. The Dibs tab is located on the far right hand side of the upper toolbar. When you click on the “Dibs” tab, all the volunteer opportunities that are available to you based on your group affiliations will be displayed.
