Mite Hockey is our entry-level program for kids ages 4–9, No previous hockey experience is needed!

Thanks to the Thaler Family Foundation, your child’s first year of Westonka Association Hockey is completely FREE!

• Pre-K (Mini Mites): Mid-November through mid-February
• Kindergarten–3rd Grade (Mite 1–Mite 4): Late October through early March
• Beginner-friendly: New players are welcome at every level

Skating is the most important skill for hockey. Learn to Skate is a program offered in the community in partnership with Westonka Youth Hockey Association and Westonka Community Education. While knowing how to skate prior to starting hockey is not required, kids who have skated before are able to step on the ice with confidence as they start Mites. Sessions are offered in Summer, Fall, and Winter. Visit our learn to skate page for more information.

Mini Hawk Rookie Camp is a fall camp offered every year for first time skaters. The camp is an opportunity for new players to wear the equipment and learn about the sport of hockey. It is offered every fall, prior to the hockey season. See the link below for more information.

The Mound Westonka Youth Hockey Association hosts several Try Hockey For Free events throughout the summer. Check back for Spring and Summer dates for 2027!
