Westonka Mini Hawks Hockey Rookie Camp is a fun, welcoming introduction to youth hockey for first-time players. Westonka Rookie Camp helps young skaters build confidence on the ice while learning the basics of skating and hockey in a positive environment. Rookie Camp includes on-ice instruction, beginner equipment support, and a pathway into Westonka Youth Hockey.
Ages
Rookie Camp is for first time BOY & GIRL hockey players, Ages 4 thru 9. Skaters ideally have attended a Learn to Skate program or have been on skates before and know how to support themselves on the ice, but all abilities welcome.

Protective Equipment is available to use for FREE during Rookie Camp, while supplies last. Visit our mite equipment page below to see equipment requirements and request FREE RENTAL EQUIPMENT!
*Note: Protective equipment will not be distributed the day of the first Rookie Camp. Equipment must be requested prior to Rookie Camp.
Equipment Rental Details
Equipment rentals are available for new players attending Rookie Camp for FREE, if needed. Players may use rental equipment for the remainder of the season for a cost of $50. ($250 initial depot, then $200 returned at end of season upon return of equipment)

Equipment Rental Includes:
- Shin guards
- Breezers (hockey pants)
- Shoulder pads
- Elbow pads
- Helmet
- Gloves
- Hockey Bag
Please note: We have limited quantities of rental equipment available, and equipment intended for 1st year players. We will do everything we can to support equipment requests, but if demand exceeds supply, we will give priority to first year players.
Players are responsible for providing the following:
- Skates
- Stick
- Neck guard
- Mouth guard
- Jock or pelvic protector
